Hardware System
Treat hinges, handles, clamps, seals, magnetic closures, water bars and wall connections as one installation system.

Door hardware
Review hinges, rollers and handles against the panel size, weight, fixing positions and intended movement. Catalogue references help identify a design; compatibility is confirmed per project.
Water management
Review seals, magnetic closures and water bars as part of the installation conversation.
Wall connections
Send wall construction and finished-surface information. Fixing positions and support details need to suit the actual substrate and the confirmed configuration.
Configuration review
Review the hardware with the panel and site.
Use this proposed checklist to prepare a custom enclosure review. Assign the owners below with your project team and record open decisions against one layout revision. It is a working method for gathering evidence, not a hardware manufacturer’s installation instruction or a claim of tested performance.
| Review item | Project input | Evidence to request | Proposed owner | Unresolved decision |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Panel weight and width | Record weight and width together, glass specification, panel reference and movement. | The actual model document identifying applicable panel limits and configuration; retain its document revision. | Hardware supplier and drawing reviewer. | Does the evidence cover this panel and use? |
| Hinge count and mounting | Identify proposed hinge count, positions and wall-to-glass or glass-to-glass mounting arrangement. | Model-specific mounting instructions and a matching layout drawing; a catalogue image is insufficient. | Hardware supplier and configuration reviewer. | Is this arrangement supported by the selected model’s documentation? |
| Substrate and fixings | Describe wall construction, backing, finished surfaces and measured wall alignment. | Site record and a fixing detail reviewed for the actual substrate. | Site representative and responsible installer. | Who confirms support and resolves missing substrate information? |
| Water interfaces | Mark seal contacts, door-bottom interface, threshold and nearby joints. | Configuration details; for an existing leak, observations of the earliest water crossing. | Installer and project reviewer. | Which interface needs further evidence before a change? |
Keep substitutions open until their effect on the glass, mounting and movement has been reviewed. Adding a hinge or changing a seal does not by itself establish suitability. Record the agreed component reference and drawing revision before release.
